A record that can prove itself.
Every document recorded with the Florida Land Office receives a sequential recording number and a cryptographic fingerprint, and takes its place in an unbroken chain. Batches of records are timestamped against the Bitcoin blockchain, so anyone — with no access to us and no need to trust us — can confirm that a record existed, unaltered, at the moment it was recorded.
Fingerprinted
Each document is hashed with SHA-256 on arrival. Change one byte and the fingerprint no longer matches.
Chained
Each record commits to the one before it. Altering an old record would require forging every record since.
Timestamped
Batches are anchored via OpenTimestamps, placing a proof in the Bitcoin blockchain that no one — including us — can backdate.
